Our news, up for grabs

The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism has published “What’s happening to our news,” which it labels “an investigation into the likely impact of the digital revolution on the economics of news publishing in the UK.” A solid piece of work, and I haven’t read its 176 pages. It has a list of interviewees long as yer arm with all the big names on it. My only carp (and as I say, I haven’t read it) is it looks a bit dirgiste: as if tax and public policy can be the determining factors here, when I am not sure they can.
