Newsosaur has done a series this week on issues around the transition from newspapers to online media. It is characteristically well-written, analytical and informed by business sense. It is also, for anyone following this debate, pretty depressing. The latest two parts look at traffic on the web (largely informed by the paper’s print readership), and the transition to digital. The latter is pretty much requried reading. It is the story of how an industry is dying and the commercial and editorial brains – both are guilty – are failing to address it.
